Pat Hare with the Muddy Waters Band - Evil

Muddy Waters sings the hell out of this song, in spite of the fact that he was a gentleman through and through. Auburn "Pat" Hare, on the other hand, had a mean streak.

Somewhere back on this blog is the link to Pat's "I'm Gonna Murder My Baby," from 1954, three years before this song was cut. His tombstone says 1930 to 1980, and he spent the last sixteen years of that life in prison for, guess what? Murdering his girlfriend.

Pat had a prison-band with a really cool name, I think it was "Blues Incarcerated." Died at fifty, but I haven't seen any reference to how or why. Fifty is on the young side. Pat had a temper on him, so that might have led him into the arms of trouble, but who knows? Maybe he just smoked too many Kools.
