Greetings From The Land Of The Fat Cottonwood Trees

That would be Alamogordo, New Mexico.

I'm on a rental, just wanted to say hi!

Isn't that where they set off the A-Bomb? Keep moving, or you'll glow in the dark!

One and the same! Trinity site is about seventy miles to the northwest, as the buzzard flies.

It is also home to Holloman Air Force Base, which now hosts the F-22 Raptor and a squadron of German Tornadoes. Also in the area are some facilities for these new remotely piloted drones and a huge missle testing range.

How does Alamogordo compare to LA and Thailand? Where else have you lived? I'm a new reader.

Well, in Alamogordo there is almost nothing to do, so it's not very interesting. It is a lot cheaper than L.A., rent and food wise. My dad thinks that it's fine, but all he does is read, watch sports on cable TV, and cook simple meals.

Thailand is my "briar patch" of choice: very safe, crime and police wise; very beautiful and interesting; and quite the little adventure. Oh, and cheap too. Plus, any native English speaker with a Bachelors' Degree and a TOEFL teaching certificate (takes a month and about $1,500) can get a decent job within a week.
